LM26LV-Q1: Behavior when VDD level is lower than VTEMP level

Hello Champs,

I have question when 2.5V voltage is supplied to LM26LV-Q1 Gain 4 option device.

When ambient temperature is low, how VTEMP output behave?

According to Table 1. VTEMP OUTPUTVOLTAGE vs. DIE TEMPERATURE graph, VTEMP output is 2.651V at DIE temperature is 0C.

Can I think VTEMP output is just clamped around 2.5V, and in the range where DIE temperature is high, device operates normally?

Hi Nobuo,

The output is limited by the supply and some headroom requirement (~300mV based on Figure 19). So at 2.5V supply I would expect the max output to be 2.2V (30C). When the temp is high, the output voltage is low so no problem there.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Let me ask one more question.
My coustomer wants to set Trip temperature at 145C, so the device will be set Gain 4 option.
Under this configuration and VDD supply with 2.5V, will the accuracy specified as +/- 2.3C rage from 0C to 150C be maintained?

This is most likely but since TI can only guarantee what's listed in the datasheet since those specs reflect actual test conditions. Our sensors have very good line regulation (74uV/V) so I don't expect the accuracy to change when the supply is lowered from 3V to 2.5V at high temp where there's enough headroom.
