LM35: LM35CAZ/NOPB

Part Number: LM35

As a business we manufacture temperature sensors, one product we provide consists of an LM35CAZ/NOPB element with 3 x 1.000mtr 7/02 flexible silver plated copper leads,

a customer has reported that 10 pieces have failed (see below)

Sensors were rejected due to

  • Consistently reading 150°C
  • Intermittently reading 150°C
  • Reading random temperatures.

One fail reported in January 2017.

Nine fails reported between June & September 2017.

We tested 3 x Temperature Sensors.

3 of the sensors were verified as failing during retest.

Notes attached contain details of findings - Sensor reported temperature values at ambient environment eg. Sensor # 1 read 24.1°C, Sensor # 2 read 23.7°C etc.

Return

  • Sensor # 3 (150°C), 5 (random) and 8 (150°C) were deemed as defective

Does anybody know of a test proceder we could adopt to confirm the finished units are working correctly, please note we manufacture 1,000 per despatch so test would need to be speedy.
