AWR1243: Antenna array spacing design for multiple chip solution

Part Number: AWR1243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TX12,

Hi,

It is four Chip cascade Ti demo system. The antennas 1,2,3,4 in the figure respectively represent transmitting antennas, and the antennas 2,3 and 4 are used to measure vertical angles. I found that the vertical spacing between the 2, 3, and 4 antennas is not equidistant.

The vertical spacing between antenna 1 and antenna 2 is λ/2, the vertical spacing between antenna 2 and antenna 3 is 3λ/2,and the vertical spacing between antenna 3 and antenna 4 is λ. Is that so? If it's  correct, please tell me why the vertical spacing is set this way. My understanding is that the vertical spacing is  λ/2 between the antennas 1,2,3,4 .If it's wrong, What is the horizontal and vertical spacing between antennas 1,2,3 and 4?

Regards,
Steven
