AWR1243: packet 0 vs 1 on AWR12xx data path

Part Number: AWR1243

Hi,

In the document of swra555.pdf (AWR1xxx data path), under the usecase examples, there are packet 0 and packet 1

What's the meaning and difference of these two?

Thanks,

Hao

  • Hi Hao,
As metioned in the document itself, packet0 can be used for raw ADC data (12/14/16bit) and CP/CQ data.
If in the device CQ/CP is enabled then better to assign CP/CQ to packet1 and ADC data to packet0, in that way using CSI2 interface Host doesn't need to work extra to distinguish it. And on top that packet0/1 can be assigned to individual virtual channel to further have different path for ADC and CP/CQ data, so that at Host side it gets these type of data at different channel where it'll directly maps to processing chain.
So, packet0/1 are option to make data transfer more smooth and processing of data faster which optionally user can configure the device for.
