OPA197: feasibility with the INA301

Part Number: OPA197
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA301

Hello team,

my customer is thinking of using the OPA197 like the picture in the first page of the DS

But instead of the third OPA197 he would like to use the INA301; the two outputs of the two OPA197s go to directly across the shunt resistor from where the INA301 is reading.

Do you see any problem with this solution? Or do you believe this is doable?

Thank you and best regards,

Adrian

  • The figure I'm referring to is the following

  • Adrian,
I do not see any issue replacing a second stage OPA197 shown above with INA301. Just be aware that even though the inputs of OPA197 may be taken all the way to the rails, the linear output voltage range is a function of load and depending on the output current may be limited to few hundreds millivolts from either rail.
