DCA1000EVM: problem encountered when using with mmWave Studio 2.0.0.2 and "IWR6843ISK+MMWAVEICBOOST" combo

I'm trying to use mmWave Studio 2.0.0.2 to work with "IWR6843ISK+MMWAVEICBOOST" combo and DCA1000EVM. I'm pretty sure that I get the two boards connected correctly. I can see all the 4 FDTI ports and also the 2 XDS110 ports under "Device Manager". I'm successful with the first step. I'm getting stuck in the step of "RS232 Operations": I have the a COM Port (COM11) for "XDS110 Class Application/User UART" under Device Manager/Port, the FDTI Connectivity Status is "Connected". I have also closed the jumper on SOP0 and SOP1, leaving SOP2 open. But I am getting an error when I click on Connect under RS232 Operations:

Error: [RadarAPI]: Error: Connection failed: Calling ConnectTarget returned 3

and the "RS232 Connectivity Status: Disconnected" is not turned into "Connected".

Could you help?

Ziyou,

Look at the pictures below and make sure that its in "DCA mode" and the DCA1000 is set up correctly (Green PCB)

Hi Alex, I have the same problem. I have attached the photo of my setup. I would appreciate it highly if you could let me know. I am also using the same setup. IWR6843 + mmWaveICBoost + DCA1000EVM. Thanks!

Alex: yes, this does resolve my issue. Now I'm able to get RS232 connected, also SPI connected. I can now hit the "PostProc" button under the "SensorConfig" tab to view some post processing results. Thanks a lot for the help.

Alex, update on my problem. I followed your advice and I was able to solve the RS232 connectivity issue. But the SPI connectivity doesn't seem to change. The device status has changed to IWR6843/QM/SOP:2/ES:1. Please ket me know how to proceed. Thank you very much!

P.S I can create another ticket too.
