AWR1642: Edit the Zone Occupancy Detection's Clustering block

Part Number: AWR1642
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443, IWR6843

HI,

How can I edit the lab: Zone Occupancy Detection's Clustering block to produce more detection points per target.

Because if you have more detection points per target, you can see a representation of your target as points in 3D space.

  • Hi Nyasha,

The xWR1642 device does not provide 3D point cloud information since it has 2 transmit channels and both of those are allocated to Azimuth direction. The point cloud returned by xWR1642 contains x and y co-ordinates and z value is always 0. If you want to get 3D point cloud, you should use IWR1443 or IWR6843 EVM and use the Zone occupancy lab with the corresponding SDK out of box demo firmware.
