DCA1000EVM: Data and control signals flow

 How does the control and data flows work in the DCA1000EVM + AWR1843Boost. For example : Is the firmware flashed over USB->FTDI->SPI and the commands to start the measurements too? And the ADC data arrive over LVDS->Ethernet?

    To capture raw adc data from AWR1843 using DCA1000 you need to use mmWave Studio. I would recommend you go over the mmWave Studio user guide for the steps to configure the device and capture the data. This document is available in the mmwave studio installation (docs directory).

    In this case (with mmwave Studio) AWR1843 needs to be in SOP-2 (development mode) where firmware is downloaded to device over RS232 (over XDS110 of AWR1843BOOST) and configuration commands are sent over USB->FTDI->SPI (FTDI on DCA1000) to the AWR device. On the other side raw adc data is captured using DCA1000 over Ethernet to the PC.
