IWR1843: People Counting Performance

Hi,

There are two 3d people counting projects in the industrial toolbox: 68xx_3D_people_counting and overhead_3d_people_counting. Would you please suggest a better one we should use if neither the installation location nor the monitoring area is a concern?

Hi Tom,

Overhead_people_counting is meant to be mounted above the area of interest looking down and 3D_people_counting is meant to view the target area from the side. I am not sure I understand your question - do you mean you will not know how the device is mounted once deployed?

Thanks for your reply. I know the mounting difference of two projects. Our case is that the client does not care about where devices are mounted but the performance of tracking people. Which project would you recommend?

Hi Tom,

In that case, use the "Sense and Avoid: HVAC Control" demo. This is our most accurate people counting solution.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for your advice. The "Sense and Avoid: HVAC Control" lab uses ISK which has better azimuth resolution than ODS or AOP. This project may not be applicable for our case. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong
