TDC7201-ZAX-EVM: TDC7200EVM (COMx) 端口问题

Part Number: TDC7201-ZAX-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC7200EVM, UNIFLASH, MSP430WARE, TDC7201

I did all right with MSP430 Firmware Upgrade, but when I plugged TDC7201-EVM into the MSP430 Launch Pad for Checking Connection, I could not find TDC7200EVM (COMx) in the Ports (COM & LPT) list of my computer, but the Ports of MSP could be found.I couldn't fix the problem, even if I skipped the step and typed in the stop and start signals.I don't know what the problem is.

  • Hi,

It sounds like you can successfully complete the steps in section 4.2 of the user's guide to upgrade the firmware, but do not see the results in section 4.3?

Please see steps found in posts 928437 and 881110. I would first try flashing the firmware using the UniFlash tool to make sure it was upgraded properly.

    Regards,

    Gabriel

  • Hello,

I have used the UniFlash tool to make my Msp430 Firmware upgraded successfully. And I have installing CCS and MSP430ware. But I also do not see the results in section 4.3. Including the step found in posts 928437 and 881110, I have tried to install labbiw and other software mentioned in these two posts, but I still haven't solved the problem. The picture is mine Ports(COM & LPT) list. I hope I can get your further help. thank you!

    Bset regards,

  • Hi Zhangli,

It sounds like you have everything set up correctly.

Are you unable to connect to the GUI?

Plug in the hardware first, then open the GUI and try connecting through the COM ports listed.

It should connect with "USB Serial Device" (COM9 for me)

It will say "Connect Successful!" at the very bottom of the GUI if it works.

    Regards,

    Gabriel

  • Hi Gabriel,

Yes,I can get a hint that the connection is successful. Do you mean that this step is enough and the verification result of step 4.3 does not need to be handled?

Because After I plugged the TDC7201EVM module into the MSP430 board after connecting to the computer, I still could not find the TDC7201 port mentioned in

Section 4.3. Then,I have tried to enter start and stop signals, but the GUI's display didn't respond.

    Best regards,

    zhangli

  • Hello,

If the GUI says is connected successfully, as long as you see the same COM port in device manager that the GUI sees, that should be fine. The User's Guide uses a different version of Windows and an older GUI revision, which may account for the difference. You can further test the connection by reading and writing device registers on the "debug" tab of the GUI. If the connection is verified and you are having another issue with the GUI or EVM, please open a new thread with the details.

    Regards,

    Gabriel
