I did some tests using AWR1642BOOST-ODS. The radar sensor was placed in open area and the obstacles are put in front of sensor a few meters away. I can see the visualizer shows the detected obstacles, that is great.
But I also found there are always some objects are detected by radar sensor, the objects are less than one meter away from sensor. Their positions are basically the same even if I change the direction. Please refer to below picture. The obejcts highlighted in orange circle. are these objects on the sensor board itself? How can we ignore them in realistic application?
HI,
These could be reflections from the ground.
Depending on the application, there is need for a detection algorithm.
For example, if the reflections such as R<1m are of no interest they could be removed.
thank you
