[FAQ] What are TI’s Signal Switch/Multiplexer Naming Conventions?

TMUX Naming Convention

The TMUX product family includes a wide range of device with options in low voltage (Vsignal <= 24V), mid voltage (25V < = Vsignal <= 99V) and high voltage (Vsignal >= 100V). The TMUX devices also fall into the categories of general purpose, precision, protection, and automotive. The TMUX family naming convention can be seen in the table below:

TS Series Naming Convention

The TS product family encompasses a variety of analog switches with different ON resistances, bandwidth, charge injection, and total harmonic distortion to target any application. The naming convention can be seen in the table below:

SN74CBx Families Naming Convention

CBT-C (Cross-Bar Technology - Clamp): 5-V NMOS Switches with –2-V undershoot protection

CBTLV (Low-Voltage Cross Bar Technology): Low-voltage switches with parallel NMOS and PMOS transistors

CB3Q (High-Bandwidth Cross-Bar Technology): NMOS switches with a charge-pump circuit for low and flat ron

CB3T (Cross-Bar Translating): Level-shifting NMOS bus switch

For a more detailed comparison please refer to the application note.

CD40xx/CD74HCx Channel & Configuration Guide

The 40xx Channel & Configuration Guide applies to both the CD40xx family and the CD74HCx family.

Below is a naming example for a CD74HCx family device:

Note: These naming conventions are general guidelines and not strict rules. There are parts that do not conform to the layouts provided above.
