CD4051B: About datasheet revision changes from SCHS047K to SCHS047L.

Dear, Support Team.

There was a question on the PCN that we, the distributor, notified the customer.
Regarding PCN #20230906004.1 issued by TI on September 06, 2023, the ESD ratings and electrical characteristics of DATASHEET were also changed due to the addition of FAB/ASSY.
Could you please tell me why the ESD robustness has been weakened?

I'd guess that the new die is smaller and does not have enough space for better protection.

Hi Yuyama-san,

Thanks for reaching out here. Looking at our internal sources this appears to be a change as a result of the 300mm transition. The new die accurately reflects ESD ratings across all packages with the new die.

I understand that ESD ratings apply to all packages.
However, customers note that in Revision K, each package had a different ESD rating.

The TSSOP package was new in revision K, and has always used the new die. (4051 and 4053 were different with the old dies.)

In revision L, all packages were switched over to the new die.
