Compliance test failing for ts3usb221

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3USB221

Hello,

I am running USB host compliance set-up on one of my board. I am using usb mux in between (ts3usb221 evaluation board by TI) host and device.

For this setup USB 2.0 host compliance is failing (signal quality test), where jitter values seems higher and eye is getting overlapped by signals.

While on the same set-up if I use the same board (TI ts3usb221 evaluation board) in bypass mode (no mux, but direct connection) so that end to end length remains same, compliance test passes gracefully.

Has anyone of you used this mux device in any product and has passed compliance tests?

Or anyone of you can provide me pointers or share their experience with ts3usb221 device on signal quality.

In ts3usb221 datasheet, TI showing the eye very clear but in actual (on eval board) results observed are quite very different.

  • Pankaj,

I believe the eye diagrams in the datasheet were taken by using the TS3USB221 evaluation board (I will try and verify if this is true or not.)

What does your test set up look like? for example what are the voltages on the TS3USB221. Do you have a picture of your layout?

Could you share some pictures of the passing and failing eye diagrams and circuits?

    Thank you,
    Adam
