TS5A22362: maximum current rating

Part Number: TS5A22362

Hi,

I'm writing to ask about the maximum current rating regarding the datasheet:

If I understand it correctly. Although this switch can handle the negative voltage, VNC, VNO, and VCOM all have to be positive (0 to Vcc) to have the maximum current rating of 350mA. If one of VNC, VNO, and VCOM is negative to the ground, the maximum current rating is only 50mA?

Thank you for your help in advance.

All the best,

Yixin

  • Hi Yixin,

The 50mA is the max diode current. These diodes to GND and VCC are only active when VNC, VNO or VCOM are outside of spec (VCC – 6 or VCC + 0.5).

The other current ratings are only valid for the specified switch currents. These are the effective max currents you should apply to a signal, as long as your signal voltages don't exceed the VCC – 6 or VCC + 0.5.

The third row only applies if footnotes 7 and 8 are considered:

    (7) VCC = 3.0 V to 5.0 V, TA = –40°C to 85°C.
    (8) For YZP package only

  • Hi Ambroise,

These helped a lot. I don't have any more questions.

    All the best,
