TS5A3160: Junction temperature

Part Number: TS5A3160

Hello Team,

 My customer is looking for the max. Junction temperature of this part. Can you share with us the value?

Regards,

Renan

  • Hi Renan,

    When using this device the max junction temperature that will be achieved can be calculated using the following formula:

    T_junction = Ambient Temp (C) + ((I_Switch^2 * R_ON) + (ICC * VCC ))* R_Theta_J_A.

    For example the max junction temp this device will reach can be used by filling out the equation with values from the datasheet:

    T_j = 85C + ((400mA^2 * 1.5) + (500nA * 5.5V)) * (165 C/W (SOT-23 PKG) OR 259 C/W (SC70 PKG)) -> ~ 147.161 C ; this is worst case when looking at the datasheet.

    The other value that can help is the max storage temperature of the device which is 150C - you can see that running the device at max recommended operating conditions will keep the device under the max storage temperature.
