Connection error with CCSv4 and XDS100

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1808, OMAP-L138

CCSV4 4.1.1.00014

hi,I was  trying to connect my AM1808 EVM with XDS100v2. when i created  a target

configuration  following wiki instruction 'How to connect to the OMAP-L138/C6748/AM1808 EVM

board using CCS ', and clicked "Connect Target ", CCSv4 just closed itself  ,and this error

information popped up, do you know what happened ? thanks

  • Hi,

Although this scenario indicates that CCS caused a fatal error in the Java Virtual machine, unfortunately the message box does not give additional clues to what may have happened. Therefore I suggest you to check the sections General IDE and Debugger of the troubleshooting page shown below:

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCS

Keep in mind that several bug fixes were added to the latest versions of CCS (currently it is in version 4.2.3), therefore ultimately you can try to install the latest version of CCS and see if the JTAG connectivity becomes more stable. If you want to try this route, you can install the newer version in a different directory and use a different workspace, so you don't risk losing your current work.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
