Hi all,
when trying to install CCS 5.2 (CCS5.2.0.00069_win32) on a Windows 7 machine, I obtain an error of the following kind in a popup window:
Application Error
Error: Error in action ExecuteAction
Error in action ExecuteScript
error "not well-formed (invalid...
... the rest is unreadable in the popup.
Has anyone come across a related problem or are there any known issues when installing CCS5.2 on Windows 7 machine.
Thanks for any kind of support / remarks / hints ...
Kind regards
Hi Christian,
please check the following
- antivirus turned off and full admin privileges
- unzip the installer before installing
- use only directories with no accented/special characters or spaces
- try redownloading in case of corruption
Could you possibly send the contents of your installjammer registry directory? (found under program files (x86))
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi,
the issue is clearified in the meantime.
The problem seems to be that CCS5.x does not like if previous versions are not uninstalled properly and that the normal Windows-uninstall of CodeComposerStudio tends to fail from time to time.
In the following posting "CCSv5.1 uninstall didn't finish properly" is a description on how to proceed for a proper "manual deinstallation":
http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/163974.aspx
After deinstalling previous versions as described there, the following install did no more show this error.
When going through this forum, it seems to me that many users come across such an issue - maybe an improvement of the deinstall procedure for future versions could be helpful for many users.

Hi Christian,
ok, thanks for the update and glad things got fixed in the end. All the best with development.
Best Regards,
Lisa
