I used the menu item Help->Check for Updates of CCS v5.2.1.00018 and got the following error message:

I updated Available Software Sites by using the bookmarks.xml file given in your CCS v5 trouble shooting web page (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCSv5). This does not help.

I tried to access the related software sites, such as "http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/codegen/Updates/p2win32", by using web browser, but got error HTTP 404. I do not know if this indicates any problem.

I would be very grateful for any advices on how to resolve this problem.

  • Hi Dongning,

please check your firewall/proxy settings.  Also did you update to get to your current version?  From which version?

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

    thank you for your reply.

I disabled firewall and virus protection. "Proxy Server" check box in my web browser IE 9 is unchecked as before and the browser works fine, though it still has HTTP 404 error if accessing http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/codegen/Updates/p2win32 with firewall and virus protection disabled. As to the update, I have the same error message with the above setting.

My CCS v5.2.1.00018 was installed by offline installers. The previous version is 5.2.00069 which was also installed by off-line installer. When I was using 5.0.x and probably also earlier version of 5.1.x, I was able to use Help menu to update the CCS tools such as PDK, CG tool, etc..

  • Hi Dongning,

you are still not getting through to the internet (at least via CCS).  404 is a not found error etc.  Have you checked your CCS proxy settings?  You can check this by going to Window->Preferences and in the filter box search for proxy.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

    Thank you for your reply.

My CCS Network Connections has the following settings:

There are 3 entries under Proxy entries, i.e., HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS, all of them are unchecked with Provider set to manual and Auth to false.

There are 2 entries under Proxy bypass, i.e., localhost and 127.0.0.1. Both of them are unchecked with Provider set to manual.

Is there any problem with these settings?

    Regards,

  • Hi Dongning,

this is more something for your IT department to answer.  I would recommend comparing the settings with the settings in IE.

  • Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your reply. I could not have the problem resolved, so I downloaded some updates manually.

Another issue I noticed is that after installing the update (in my case Compiler v7.3.7), CCS still reports the same as one of newly available updates when checking new updates by using CCS.

    Regards,

    Dongning

  • Hi Dongning,

hopefully you can get some IT help getting the internet through for your first issue.

Regarding the update.  Are you able to use the new compiler?  Did it install fine?  I suspect that what is happening is that the update check simply ends up listing updates posted on the update sites/servers.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
