I now get the following script error on startup. Any ideas?? Is a back off of the update possible? Or is it dependent on me having saved a copy prior to the auto update?
I tried to install CCS V5.4 over the top of 5.3 to resolve the issue but get this error during the install.

Hi Erich,
I usually always recommend a fresh full installation to a separate directory. However, from which version to which version did you try to update?
Would you be able to send the update/installation logs? These would be found in the installjammer registry directory. The folder may be hidden and is found in program files or program files(x86).
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa
I was trying to go from 5.3 to 5.4. I just looked over a thread from about eight days ago which dealt with my same failure (at least symptomatically). In that thread Danish Innis sent an alternative setup link to Christian. I tried it to no avail. Here's what that failed with trouble is under c:\Program Files (x86) there is no InstallJammerRegistry directory....
(edited) Ah I see you mentioned hidden. I'll see if I can find the little devil. be back to you shortly.
Got the little devil. Here you go.6153.InstallJammer Registry.zip
I have been proceeding with various remedies and finally successfully installed 5.3. I did an offline install, though I would point out it's certainly not completely offline. The install logic reaches out over the NET to get the Blackhawk technology and various TI files time and time again. I would like to bring your attention back to what started this nightmare in the first place. An auto install that after which caused CCS to crash coming up. Please see my first Post. Thanks.
Erich
Hi Erich,
I would clean out all old installations and try v5.4 with the full installer to a simple fresh directory. I am beginning to wonder whether your complicated installation history/re install attempts have been confusing something.
Please keep us informed.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi again Erich,
just to add that would include cleaning out the installjammer registry logs.

LIsa
Hi Erich,
just wanted to check for any updates with your enquiry.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Lisa - thanks for asking. I got pulled off on another project. Now back on this one. I finally scrapped the update nuked the original installed and installed CCS 5.4. I am back up and running. Have no idea what went wrong with the update, but have no time to dwell on the issue. I have to look forward to trying to get my LVBLDC sensored Motor project running
Hi Erich,
glad to at least hear a clean install did the trick. Make sure you don't recycle workspaces but import your projects. Project->import existing ccs/eclipse project.
Best Regards,
Lisa
well _ I thought we were out of the woods on this but apparently no. I just received a notification to update my 5.4 install with changes to the C2000 and ARM compilers. When I accepted it applied the changes and indicated I'd need to restart CCS, opting to let me do it then. Just like before with updates to 5.3, if error-ed out and now I can no longer start 5.4. attached if the error I received. This is getting old, I can't afford to reinstall CCS every time updates are available. If we can't get to the heart of this issue, I guess I'll turn off the auto updates feature and run back level.
BTW This is the same error I now get when trying to start CCS. No action is required on anyone's part this is now strictly fr informational purposes only. I have my CCs 5.4 still intact. It appears that the auto update re-associated my startup icon with the remnants of a broken CCS. I have once again attempt to uninstall the broken CCS (by the way uninstall also errors out, but I elect to continue and skip the error messages. I suspect the broken CCS never really gets uninstalled completely, hence this reoccurring problem.
The uninstall just hangs and never completes. I have attached the log file and error message window in case anyones is interested.

Hi Erich,
I would remove all traces of ccs and the log and try again. If you get an installation error please resend the logs.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Lisa thanks, but removing it is not an option. Your uninstall fails. See the last error. Short of using REGEDIT and picking through the KEYs and using explorer to do the same with the folders. Your product won't uninstall. Got any suggestions??
Hi Erich,
we normally just manually delete the folders and logs. I have never experience an issue removing an installation to do with registry keys.
Best Regards,
Lisa
