Dbgjtag.exe in file version 35.35.0.0 throws a “not a valid Win32 application”

Hie, I have just installed the last ccs version on a windows XP (32bit) service pack 3, and I have the following trouble :

Dbgjtag.exe in file version 35.35.0.0 throws a “not a valid Win32 application”

It seems that I'm not the only one having this problem (cf : ) I have run dependency walker to check the problem : Dbgjtag.exe need msvcr120.dll version 2013 which is present in my system32.

Like this other user in the previous link, I'm trying to go to an older version on ccs, but I just want to signal this problem because it seems that I'm not the first one having this trouble.

My windows install is quite "standard" at the office, and I have downloaded the latest offline ccs zip instaler and I have check the md5sum... So everything seems to be "standard"...

Is there any known problem with this ?

  • Hi,

Thank you for reporting this and linking the previous thread. I contacted the development team to see if they can provide additional insights on top of my ideas on the other thread.

In the meantime, I am updating my Win7/32 in the hopes to reproduce this problem. I will return to this thread if I find anything significant.

(edit) I updated my CCSv6.1.0 with the latest emupack 6.0.14.5 on my Win7/32 and I could not see any problems.

    I apologize for the inconvenience,
    Rafael

  • Hubert/Raphael,

I suspect the issue is Windows XP and the platform toolset that dbjtag.exe is built with.  One work-around might be to revert to an older emulation package (5.1.642.0 or less).  The standalone installers can be found here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/XDS_Emulation_Software_Package. Let me know if this works or is not an acceptable solution.  In the mean-time I will see if I can verify if the emulation package is supported on Windows XP.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  • Hie,

I have installed the ccs 6.1.0, and it perfectly works. DbjJtag.exe (v35.34.0.0) and the others exe in the same folder perfectly works with this ccs installation.

The problem was just with ccs 6.1.1 (DbjJtag.exe v35.35.0.0)  and so , so there is no problem for me at office now .

I hope you will find why DbgJtag.exe in ccs 6.1.1 have problem with some windows xp installs, but there is no "urgency".

    Thanks for your rapid answers
