Open ccs_setup_win32 in Win7

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529

Dear Sir:

I am trying to install CCS5 using Windows 7 Professional OS.

Please look at this screenshot and then tell me how to proceed with the install:

Thank you for your time.

  • Hi Michael,

From what I know ccs_setup is an executable file, so you just need to double click it to run it. If it is a compressed file, it should be opened using WinRAR.

The ccs_setup_win32 should have .exe extension so you can simply run it by double-clicking on it. Perhaps during the download it was not saved off as a .exe. In that case, you can rename it with a ,.exe extension and then run it.

  • Your suggestion did not work using Windows Vista, but, it did work using Windows 7 Professional. You answered my question. Thank you. I am verifying your answer.

However, I discovered that the download link that I used to install CCS5 points actually installs CCS 6. I already installed CCS6 on my computer. The reason why I believed I needed to install CCS5 was because I was instructed to install that CCS version to get the TI Digital to Analog Converter Boost kit for the MSP430F5529 up and running.

This endeavor has become a real nightmare. Most of the software I need to install is not installing correctly. I have decided to create a new post about entitled, "Deboxing the DAC161S055EVM", due to the many difficulties I am encountering. Hopefully, you can offer some solutions to the problems associated with getting this kit up and running.

    Thank you for your help.
