I recently purchased the TMDX5515EZDSP USB Stick which came with a version of CC4. After installing, CCS4 asked if I wanted to download and install updates, to which I answered yes. The download and first part of the install appeard to go smoothly, until it came to "Installing Texas Instruments PCI Kernal Driver". The install is now hung at "Cleaning up install". I forced the process to close and got the following error report window. After a complete reboot I attemted to restart CCS4 and the install automatically restarted, and hung again at this same point. What would you suggest I do?
I do not have any answers for why the PCI driver install hung, but I believe the engineering team is looking into this so hopefully they can comment. In the meantime, the only thing I can think of to get you up and running is to reinstall CCSv4 but to uncheck the PCI driver before install so as to prevent it from trying to update. You do not need this driver unless you intend to use the TI XDS560 PCI emulator in any case.
Mike,
Could you provide the environment information lists here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCS#Information_for_Support
Thanks,
John
Mike before I can give this to the engineering team I need some basic information like the OS you are using. Especially for a case like this where the problem is related to the OS driver being installed.
In this case we don't need everything on that page just the OS environment info.
XP, Vista, Win 7...
32 or 64bit...
John
Would like to confirm:
On my Windows Xp (sp3) PC CCS Platinum install hangs when it reaches the PCI Kernel Driver installation. The PC freezes and I have to press on a hard reset. The Virus checker was disbled earlier.
I uncheckedthe relative tab and the CCS software then installs fine (Without the problematic driver)
