Question about license and purchase of CCS v4

This is Kevin working for Serial Group which is distributor of TI Korea.

 

I have some question about CCS v4 license and purchase.

 

First question,

 

This time is my second install of CCS v4, So I can use CCS v4 two different machines.

If I change the computer one of two different computers. I have to get the license file from TI with another MAC address.

At this time, I get the license file from TI, third time, can I use the CCS v4 again?

At this situation, how can I get the license from TI?

Q: How many computers can I use a node locked license with?

When generating a node-locked license file you can specify 2 MAC addresses (hostids). This allows you to install and run CCS on 2 machines. The license terms state that you cannot be using them at the same time. The purpose of this is if you have a work and home machine or an extra machine in the lab that you need to install CCS on. If you need to run on multiple machines concurrently you should purchase more licenses or consider a floating license pack.

 

Second question,

 

One of my customer wants to buy CCS v4 from us, as below.

Code Composer Studio v4 MCU: TMDSCCS-MCUN01D Single User License (Node Locked) - Download Only     : 3copy

 

First thing, our sales guy can order TMDSCCS-MCUN01 from TI and, sell this to customer.

Second thing, how can I order from TI? Please let me know procedure of ordering TI and selling to customer.

 

Third question,

 

When customer upgrade Platinum version(Node Locked) form MCU version of CCS v4, how much money does customer have to pay?

And how can upgrade CCS v4? Just change license? Or re-install the Platinum copy?

    If you setup your CCS license file with 2 MAC addresses and then rehost and change 1 of the MAC addresses you have to stop using it on the machine that no longer has its MAC address in the license file.  If you need to rehost again to change the MAC addresses you can do that but the system will only let you do it a couple of times, the "rehost" option will disappear.  If it disappears on you then you can contact ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com and let them know why you need to rehost again and they can help.

    If they want to upgrade from MCU to Platinum they can contact ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com and see if the cost of the MCU license can be credited against the purchase of the Platinum license.  The MCU and Platinum DVD images are the same, the only difference is the license file, so if they installed everything they needed the first time then they will not need to reinstall.
