CCS/CC1350: CCSV7.1 / Font size in Resource Explorer

Part Number: CC1350

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

migrating from CCSV7.0 to CCSV7.1 the font size has been reduced significantly. This happens independently of the Windows settings (Windows10). The text is hardly to read. This applies only to the Resource Explorer. Other text sizes seem to have remained the same. So the question is, where can I change the font size for the Resource Explorer, without changing the overall Windows display resolution?

Best regards

Peter

  • Peter,

Could you send a screen capture of what you are seeing? Is this on a 4K monitor?

    John
  • Hi John,

please find two screen shots attached, 1 with CCS7.0 and one CCS7.1. The same display settings, no difference there. It is on a Windows10 system.

    Best regards

    Peter

  • Sorry, forgot to mention, the display resolution is 1920x1080.

  • I will need to setup a Windows 10 machine.  On Windows 7 1080p this is what I see.

CCSv7.0 is on the left and 7.1 on the right.

The font in the tree is the same size in both but a little darker and easier to read in 7.0.

If I look at the font on the Resource Explorer welcome page it is a bit bigger in 7.0.  7.1 also appears to be bold.  I prefer the non-bold in 7.0.

If I select the SDK in the tree I see the same font size in both but with the same observation that font is a bit darker and more crisp in 7.0.

I want to give this a try on Windows 10 as I know there was a change done in 7.1 to try to work better on 4K screens and Windows 10's auto-scaling feature.

    Regards,

    John

  • Peter,

I setup a Win10 machine with both versions and a 1080p monitor and my results are the same as on Win7. One thing I noticed in your captures is that you are looking at different pages in Resource Explorer in each instance. The font on the home page is much larger than what is shown on the content pages. But it should be consistent between versions, with the only different being the crispness.

    John
  • Hi John,

many thanks for the feedback. Sorry, yes the screen shots of mine have not been exactly the same. Too quick and dirty. I have generated another two, with the same view. Please see below. With my machine it's still different. No idea why. It is with the same laptop, same conditions/settings, just in one case CCS7.0 and the other CCS7.1.

    Best regards

  • 7.1 uses a different browser and it must be behaving differently on your system. I am wondering windows 10 text auto scaling is triggering something in the new browser. I have tried playing with the settings in windows but so far I can't reproduce what you are seeing.
