CCS/CODECOMPOSER: Failed to install CCS8.3.0.00009 on a win10 64bit system

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I'm trying to install the newest CCS(offline version) on a win10 64 bit system. I'm sure the  antivirus and firewall were also closed, but still failed as below show.

I attched the log, please kindly suggest what could be the problem.

20190109124857.zip

  • Your ccs_8.3.0.00009.log shows that the installation has been completed.
Try to run CCS and do a post installation processes.
  • Tom,
This is my customer case. I on-site help them to install CCS ,but always terminated as shown above . I can check with my customer tommorow, but I do remember there are only a few stuffs has been installed. I forgot to upload an other picture, please take a look. We resolved the missing of "vcredist_x86" by downloading from Microsoft and installing manually. then the installation terminated with below picture.

  • Hi Yue,

It looks like there was corrupted install and when the installer tried to remove the corrupted files, something was preventing it from doing so (file left open, incorrect permissions?). Could you please ask them to delete the folder completely and then try again. Or they can install in another directory.

    Thanks,

    Danish

  • Danish,

I tested on-site with them again. I completely remove the folder from disk C,then installed to disk D. but still reported the same issue. Please see the newest log.

    3630.install_logs.zip

  • "d:/ti/ccsv8/eclipse/downloads/ti_dspack_ibsetup_win32_8.2.0.1409.exe : no such file or directory". What is this supposed to be?
  • This is the debugserver installer. There are many components in CCS that have separate installers. It could be that your offline installer package is corrupted or you're running out of disk space. Could you please download the zip file again and check the md5 checksum?
    Thanks,
    Danish
  • Danish,
Actually, The installer used this time was copied from my laptop. I can correctly install on my laptop without any issue. below is the MD5 verificaiton . I will check with them about this to make sure there is no issue happened during the copy.  From the size of the file after copying to customer's PC, there should be no problem.

BTW, In which folder can I find this "debugserver" component? Seem to this component is downloaded from the interenet during the installation.

  • Hi Yue,

The debugserver installer is extracted from the offline installer package via eclipse's p2 commands. If you open D:/work/data/TI/CCS8.2.0.00007_win32/featurerepo/binary/com.ti.ccstudio.debugserver.win32_root_8.2.0.1409 as a zip file, you should see a downloads folder which contains the debugserver binary there.

At install time, this folder (downloads) is extracted into the eclipse folder. I'm not sure why it's not doing this, I can only guess that something's getting corrupted in the process of copying/downloading on your user's machine.

If we can't figure it out soon, maybe we can do a webex?

    Danish
  • Hi Yue,

Any update on this? Has this issue been resolved for the customer?
  • Hi Yue,

Since we haven’t heard back from you, we are assuming the customer was able to resolve this issue and will be closing this thread. If you wish to pursue it further, please feel free to post a reply with an update. Thanks!
