CCS: XGCONF error

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

when I open my *.cfg file with XGCONF I get the following error :

Please fix the following errors. Then close and relaunch the XGConf editor.
C:\ti\xdctools_3_50_04_43_core\xs.exe: error: can't create session manager: can't find a JVM; the environment variable 'XDCTOOLS_JAVA_HOME' is set, but does not appear to be a directory containing a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment (1.7 or greater); e.g., 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7'.

My java is installed in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_241

how do I fix this ?

Hi Yuval,

What CCS are you using? Where are you getting this error (e.g. from the commandline or within CCS)?

one more thought : i have a few different xdc tools versions - could this be related?

Yuval,

Is jre1.8.0_241 32 or 64-bit? If 64-bit, can you install (and use) a 32 bit one. We moved XDCtools to 64-bit support in 3.55.

Note: you can install that version of XDCtools with the JRE included in it also: http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/rtsc/3_50_04_43/index_FDS.html

3.50.04.43

3.55.02.22

in the last 2 , one of which is from our link I see the folder jre inside

Do I need to tell CCS which version to use? how ? also - how to i tell XGCONF to use the correct xdc tools and associated java ?
