Hi,

In section 4.2.4, the VF_bridge per element is taken as 0.85 V for loss calculation. Could you please let me know from where this information is obtained. In the datasheet of GBJ1508, it is only mentioned that VF_bridge per element at IF = 7.5 A DC is 1.05 V. We need the VF_bridge per element at an IF = 4.34 A for calculating loss.

Below is the graph of VF of MCC’s GJB1508, VF is close to 0.85V, you may use 0.9V if you want to have more margin.

4.34 A is the average forward current, not instantaneous. So, is it that the diode voltage drop also varies when sinusoidal current passes through the diode and 0,85 V is the average voltage drop across it.

Yes, 4.34A is the average value of the rectified DC current,  and we use simultaneous voltage drop at average current to simplify the calculation.  If you really wan to calculate the exact power loss,  suggest to calculate integral of simultaneous current multiply simultaneous diode voltage drop.
