Hi,

I wanted to know what energy meter was used in this design?

I checked the block diagram and the schematic, but it looks like the AC line voltage is not being measured/monitored.

Only the residual AC DC current is bring monitored.

I see MSP430F5132 is used but that doesn't have metrology features included in it.

Another question is for the metrology IC+MCU are there any options in MSPM0 series or ARM processor series? (didn't find any yet)

I know there are very good options in MSP430 series.

Hi Bhavya,

I'm going to send this thread over to the Sitara team for comments as they are involved with the linked design.

For generic e-metering solutions there are the MSP430 designs you mentioned with single and poly phase designs. MSP430F6779 Three Phase Implementation.

For MSPM0, we have developed a multichip solution pairing with the ADS131M08 device. TIDA-010243, we also have an energy metrology Library for MSPM0.

Considering the linked design is for EV charging, are you looking into an EV charging solution?

Thank you Luke. Yes I am looking for EV charging solution. I have taken a look at the reference designs TI provides for this purpose. I will wait on for the response form Sitara team.

Hi,

The MSP430 device on what we call the reference design board is as you have pointed out is for current detection. Are you asking about how the current is measured?

After discussing with the team that designed the AM62-EVSE-DEV-PLATFORM the board doesn’t have emetering functionality.
