Hi all,

I'm trying to create a pbga 144 pin footprint for allegro pcb editor from a bxl file i downloaded from Ti webench site.

The component is TMS320C5535_ZHH_144 and the file i downloaded isTMS320C5535_ZHH_144.bxl of course

I'm using the last version of ultralib available from Ti's download area, and i choose to create a component for allegro 16 or later.

I'm using allegro 16.6

When i try to run the batch file generated by ultralib the process stops during the allegro process is running and it shows the message :

"No match found for 'CustomShapes.scr' in the search path."

I'm using Win7 64 bit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Andrea,

Attached is the translated BXL file into Allegro 16.6. I may have a different version of UL but I will check this on a different system.

i successfully imported your component .dra in allegro, i'm checking dimensions and pads and it semms ok.

I really thank you.

Is there any solution to use ultralib .bxl file to generate a .dra/.psm for allegro 16.6 ?

Hello Howard,

I confirm that Ultra Librarian BXL export to Allegro 16.6 does not work with some BXL files from TI.

SN65HVS881_PWP_28.bxl failed,
SN65HVS882_PWP_28.bxl failed,
DRV8825_PWP_28.bxl failed,

Allegro error log says ...
Create symbol started.
ERROR(SPMHCS-1): Symbol is missing a refdes.
ERROR(SPMHCS-1): Symbol is missing a refdes.
ERROR(SPMHA1-291): Create symbol has been aborted.

Allegro PCB editor stays open and stuck. The reason for Errors / freezing is in Setup / Design Parameters / Design / Extents / Lower Y: zero value. You need to specify Lower Y < 0, for example -2000 mils if the origin is at pin 1 or near the center of the symbol.

CSD16415Q5_DQH_8.bxl and other footprints works works. I expect the same trouble with all parts with PWP28 footprint.

Hi Vassili,

I ran the bxl translation through Ultra librarian tool (ver 6.4.107) to Allegro 16.6 without any issues. I wonder if you are using the latest Ultra librarian tool?

I have attached the translated .dra file for you.

I have a problem gain. Footprint generation for CDCE72010_RGC_64.bxl and CDCLVP1216_RGZ_48.bxl are failing with the same problem on two different computers: Allegro PCB designer (16.60) error message: Symbol name "ths20x30x459,84252.fsm" may not contain multiple periods.

Cmd.exe window: Expected file "ths20x30x459,84252.fsm" not found

Ultralibrarian is current 6.4.202

Hello Vassilli,

I apologize for the late response. I have checked the BXLs and it’s not translating in Allegro. We have contacted our vendor and they are looking to the issue and hope they will have a fix soon.

I tried to export AFE5851_RGC_64.bxl, and got exactly the same error message with Alegro (ths20x30x459.84252.fsm, multiple periods)
