Error when trying to import TPS24742 Spice model into TINA-TI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, TPS24742

Hi,

I have attempted to import the TPS51085 Spice model into TINA-TI, and I got the following error.

Invalid device: $CDNENCSTART. Line: #39.

$CDNENCSTART

followed by:

The circuit cannot be opened or cannote be converted to a macro.

I am running Version 9.3.150.4 SF-TI of TINA-TI.

I know there were some issues with power spice model because of encryption,

but it is the latest TINA version, so I hope it should work normally

Please help.

  • Jean,

The PSpice models in the TI product folders are encrypted and can only be used in PSpice version 15.7 or higher. TINA-TI cannot open PSpice encrypted models. Only the software that does the encryption can open an encrypted model.

I will add the TPS24742 to the TINA-TI translation queue.

  • Britt,

    Thank you for the answer.
It is not really a good news, but now, I know why the pspice model doesn't work on TINA.

    It's really hard to wait.
It seems a Lite version of Orcad (including Pspice) could be download for free.
Cadence talk about limitations in the size and complexity of the design.
    I'm trying.

  • Jean,

The Lite version of PSpice will not work with this model for two reasons. First, the model is encrypted and I do not believe that the Lite version will handle encryption. Second, the node limitations for the Lite version is usually so small that the model takes more nodes than are allowed in the entire design.

We have added the device to the TINA-TI translation queue and I hope to have the model available soon. I apologize for the delay.

  • Britt,

    Thank you for the answer.
I am waiting for the TINA model.
