Webench simulation - UCC28740 flyback converter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28740, UCC28730, UCC28704, UCC24636, PMP11451

I tried to simulate a flyback converter in Webench for UCC28740 converter with the below specification. Input: 85-265 VAC @ 50 Hz, Output: 20V @ 3 Amps. When i entered the values to get the design file in webench and got a error state that it could not find the MosFET to meet the design. But the application note and develpement board used the above output with the Mosfet IPL60R299CP. Please let me how to add the model for the Mosfet to continue to simulation.

Refer the link for application note: http://www.ti.com/tool/pmp11451

Thanks

  • Hello Jawahar,

Currently we don't have option to select/import the IPL60R299CP MOSFET model to WEBENCH if that's what you are looking for. Also the PSPICE model for this part is not available for download in product folder.

Alternatively, you can use UCC28704 or UCC28730 to design your application. PSPICE project files are available for both these parts in their respective product folders under 'Tools & Software' section. Hope this helps in your application development.

Please let us know if we can be of any other help.

    Thanks!!

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Jawahar,

If you are looking to use the UCC28740 in a UCB-C PD type application as in the PMP11451, check WEBENCH for this by the end of July - you can design for this application using WEBENCH. This is currently in development.  However, we do not have SPICE models for the UCC28740 or UCC24636 and you will not be able to do a SPICE simulation of the circuit - either standalone or in WEBENCH.
