WEBENCH® Tools/LM25085: how to open .SVG file from the WEBENCH output?

Part Number: LM25085

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

When trying to download the PCB layout from the WEBENCH it creates an .svg file.
What is it? how do i open it?

Thanks,

Elad

  • Hi Elad,

.SVG file is an image file.

Please try the below steps to download the PCB Layout files from WEBENCH designer.

    1.  Open LM25085 design in WEBENCH

    2. Choose 'CUSTOMIZE'.

    3. You can find the 'EXPORT' option on top right corner. Click on it.

    4. The Export window opens up and gives you the list of CAD tools options.

    5. Choose the CAD tool you wish to download and then click on 'EXPORT DESIGN' again.

The download will be completed in few seconds. The .ZIP file contains both Schematic and PCB CAD files in it. Please see attached screen shot for your reference.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Suganya,

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Still not sure how to use the .svg files.

If I open a design in WEBENCH and choose CUSOMIZE, when standing on PCB Layout I can download the files – this will create the .svg files.

    Thanks,

    Elad

  • Hi Elad,

You are almost there!  In the PCB Layout page, please search for 'Export' at the top right corner(just above the download arrow you click for svg files)as shown in the attached image. Then try the steps mentioned in my previous post.

Please let us know if you still face issue.

    Thanks,

    S.Suganya

  • Hi Elad,
In the CUSTOMIZE page, when you go to the PCB layout tab and click download - the zip file that gets downloaded is picture files of the various layers within the board. You can view them in a standard web browser such as Chrome. To get the actual CAD files, please follow the instructions that Suganya mentioned in the previous post.
    regards,
    Gerold
