PMP8583: Evaluation of UCC28911

Part Number: PMP8583
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28911, UCC28910, PMP

Hello,

I have a question about PMP8583.
I want to contact you individually. Is it possible?

We propose UCC28911 to customers.
It is a project of a new customer (OMM).

①AC ~ 220Vin / 12V 0.5A output (general purpose model) 30~60K units / year

( ②AC ~ 220Vin / 12 V 1.2A output (high class model) 10~30K units / year )

Thank you.

  • Hello Mayumi-san,

Thank you for your interest in the UCC28911 PSR switcher.

The general purpose model spec is for 6 Watts and the UCC28910 may also be suited for it, besides the UCC28911.
The "high class" model spec is for 14.4 Watts and may require special cooling considerations for the UCC28911 (which has been characterized to 14 W at 25C ambient temperature).

You can contact me by email (ulrich_goerke@ti.com) to discuss this privately.

    Regards,
    Ulrich
  • Hello,Ulrich-san

Thank you very much for your reply.

My customers were considering PMP 8583,
The situation has changed and my customer product needs insulation.
So it is necessary to evaluate with an insulating board.

I would like to suggest customers to customize the transformer of UCC 28911 EVM - 718 for 12 V output.
    (We refer to Webench's recommended transformer specification.PC 40EE 20/20/5 et c.)

As for the high-end model, since the electric power is large, I introduce the UCC 28730/40 to the customer.

    Thank you.
