PMP20122: PMP20122 REFFERENCE DESIGN IMPROVEMENT

Part Number: PMP20122
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP12082, PMP9053, UCC28C42, PMP10833

How can i Convert the Same Design into a 3 Phase Input ? Can i add the 3 phase using diodes ? Just like the refference design of your Poly Phase metering design ?

And what i have to change to Make the Output volt into 24 Volt and 1 Amp..

Please note i want to be this design as Non-Isolated.. No transformer,to lower the Cost.

  • Hi Ehsan,

We have reached out to the original designer, please give him a day or so to answer.

    Thanks,

    Robert

  • Hi Ehsan,

You could use full-wave rectifier (example: PMP12082) or half-wave rectifier (example: PMP9053) for 3 phase input. 24V 1A is quite high power for a AC-DC buck converter. Especially if you are using UCC287xx PSR controller in Buck converter topology at such high current, the peak inductor would be very high. According to the control law, the peak current could goes up to 6A, which will result in high input current ripple.

In addition, PSR controllers are generally more sensitive than other PWM controllers, so I wouldn't recommend to use PSR controller in high current AC-DC buck converter applications. Instead, it is safer and cost effective to use regular PWM controller for high current AC-DC buck converter such as UCC28C42 and PMP10833.
