TIDA-01159: TIDA-00951

Part Number: TIDA-01159

Hello there,

I am in the process of printing the PCB for tida-00951. In the drill drawing report, it is recommended to use FR-4 High Tg material. Is Fr-4 Tg130 enough or should it be higher (e.g., Fr-4 Tg170)?

Thank you,

  • Mohammed, hello and good day.  Our design owner for this is in China and we have forwarded your request to him for review and response.  As it is already late Friday night in China, please allow us until Monday to response.

    Best Regards,

    John Fullilove

  • Hi, Mohammad

    Sorry for late.

But, I really have no idea why TIDA-01159 recommend High Tg FR4 material, and not see this comment in its document.

High Tg no doubt is better, but this will increase cost too. I think general FR4 should be good enough.

  • Thank you, Gue,

I am sorry for the confusion, In the question subject, I wrote the part number as tida-01159 while my intention was to ask about tida-00951 a I mentioned in the body of my message. Could you please address the same question for the tida-00951?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Hi, Mohammad

To be honestly, I real do not know why high Tg PCB material is requested in this design, except in case there is any hot spot exsiting.

While, as this design does not mention any explaination on this, I think you could leave it alone and choose the PCB material which meet your cost expectation.
