WEBENCH® Tools/LMR50410: LMR50410 voltage consultation

Part Number: LMR50410

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Can the LMR50410  chip eliminate voltage fluctuations? What is the approximate range of the voltage that can be eliminated? Our input power supply may be affected by the yellow voltage fluctuations as shown in the figure below, but we used the L6984 chip before, which could not eliminate the output voltage fluctuations as shown in the blue line in the figure below. Can your chip eliminate this fluctuation and output a stable voltage? If not, please recommend a chip that can eliminate this fluctuation. Our requirements: input voltage 5-36V, output voltage 5V.

  • Hi,

I think you may be able to test it using our evaluation module and see if the same output voltage is affected by fluctuations.

Sometime the output voltage spikes is an artifact also of a ground loop noise on the oscilloscope. The best way to check is to see the output voltage using a small loop ground probe and do not connect any other channel from the oscilloscope in the system.

Here is one good article for how to measure the output voltage

The EVM can be found here

    Thanks
