TIDA-00779: UCC27531D vs UCC27524A

Part Number: TIDA-00779
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27524A, UCC27524, UCC27531

Hi,

it's possible to use UCC27531D or UCC27524A as gate driver.

The question is: what is the best choice?

What are the conditions for a  UCC27531D recommendation?

What are the conditions for a UCC27524A  recommendation?

Thanks

Pepito

  • Hi Pepito,

Our product line AE should reply your question, I already inform them, thanks!

  • Pepito,

The choice of which driver to use depends on application requirements: UCC27531 is single channel with wider gate drive voltage 32V which makes it suitable for both IGBT, MOSFETs, while UCC27524 is 20V driver that can combine its dual channels to source/sink 10A peak current at the gate to drive high gate charge FETs in higher power applications.
