CC2650: BLE Device Monitor: No Response from BLE Host Device (HCI Link Error)

Part Number: CC2650
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2340R5

Dear support,

I find problems when I started BLE device monitor.

I have 2x cc2650 launchpads and flash project zero and host test respectively to them. Under the guidance of BLE basics in the simplelink academy I succeeded to finish task 1 but was stuck at the Task 2 - Connect and the navigation, as the BLE device monitor can't scan and recognize my device. The ports worked well when I ran other projects. I don't know how can I deal with this issue. Some screen shot are as below.

Regards,

  • Hi Shaw,

May I kindly ask you to point me to the SimpleLink Academy you are following? Can you also point me to the place where you have downloaded the BLE device monitor?

To finish, could you please provide me the software images (.hex or .out file) you are using on the two devices?

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hi Clément,

Thank you again for asking my question:D

I currently use simplelink academy 1.11. For BLE device monitor, I just know its version is 2.9.0, maybe you can show me a reliable link to download it. Moreover, I want to know how to directly flash .hex or .out on launchpad.

For the software images, I can't upload them through "Insert" by dragging or on the tool bar for some reason: (

  • Hi,

I guess you are referring to the following tool: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SWRC258

However, it looks like something fairly old and we have much newer silicon and collateral available.

Would you like to describe your use case so we can see together if other options exist?

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

Yes, that's ecactly my vision. I'm new in BLE and wish to do some scientific research probably about changing some parts in the BLE stack. I picked up BLE basics courses days before and got trapped. I would be happy to see if there's other optional method to learn about BLE.

  • Hi,

At the moment I recommend leveraging the newly released CC2340R5 and its evaluation module LP-EM-CC2340R5. A mobile application SIMPLELINK-CONNECT-SW-MOBILE-APP is provided so you can start experimenting with the data_stream example (available within the SIMPLELINK-LOWPOWER-F3-SDK).

Make also sure to visit TI developer zone dev.ti.com/

I am now closing this thread. Please open a separate thread in case you need support using the CC2340R5.

    Best regards,
