CC2340R5: The monitoring signal is abnormally enhanced

Part Number: CC2340R5

Tool/software:

Software environment :one cc2642R1F (SDK 4.30.0.54) as peripheral as master node, two cc2340R5 (SDK 7.20.0.04) as monitor as slave node

question: When the mobile phone connects to the master node, upload RSSI of the master and slave. In the vehicle  environment , at a distance, the RSSI signal of a slave node will randomly increase abnormally

Method of stable occurrence in test environment: One of the nodes is placed in the iron box for signal shielding

test result:

1. no node goes into the iron box

in the area A(about 1m), master RSSI : 0x32  left node: 0x2E right node: 0x36

in the area B(about 6m), master RSSI: 0x5E left node: 0x57 right node: 0x53

  all node is ok

2, left node goes into the iron box

in the area A(about 1m), master RSSI : 0x35  left node: 0x4D right node: 0x31

in the area B(about 6m), master RSSI: 0x58 left node: 0x4C right node: 0x4C

in the area A, left node RSSI signal is weak, it's ok, but in the area B, the left node RSSI signal is strong as the right node, it's not ok

3, right node goes into the iron box

in the area A(about 1m), master RSSI : 0x34  left node: 0x35 right node: 0x48

in the area B(about 6m), master RSSI: 0x58 left node: 0x4E right node: 0x45

in the area A, right node RSSI signal is weak, it's ok, but in the area B, the right node RSSI signal is strong as the left node, it's not ok

The above test data comes from the average value, and there will be a little fluctuation in the actual position, and the difference is not large

  • Hi Hanxy,

Can you please provide some additional detail on the test setup? I think a diagram would help me understand your test setup and use case.

If I understand correctly you have four devices, one cell phone, one CC2642R1F and two CC2340R5.

Are you running custom software or one of the example applications?

How are you reading RSSI? Which devices are reporting?

    Thanks,

    Jake
