different fw for smartrf05 with zigbee & bluetooth?

Hi,

I have CC2530 Development Kit, including 2x smartrf05, 2x CC2530 Evaluation Modules and CC2531 USB Dongle. It run alright, but i need flash programming my board with CC2540. My board is same designed as CC2540 dongle, but smartf05 not find it (No EM detected). I would like to know,  if I need a different firmware for smartrf05 for programming CC2540 or it's same for bluetooth and zigbee.

    Hi Jan,

    The SmartRF05EB is identical for both the Zigbee and Bluetooth Low Energy kit.

    So you have designed your own board with the CC2540 based on the CC2540 USB Dongle reference design, is that correct? SO I guess you have a debug header on that board which you connect to header P3 on SmartRF05EB for programming? A couple of things you should check:

    - The CC2540 board must have power (in addition) to the debug cable to be detected by the SmartRF05EB

    - Is the debug interface correct?

    - Do all the power pins on CC2540 have power?

    - Is the EGP of CC2540 connected to ground?

    It might also be worth while to check that the firmware on the SmartRF05EB is up to date. Use either SmartRF Studio or SmartRF Flash Programmer to update the firmware.
