RF430FRL152H: Looking for more cost-sensitive option

Part Number: RF430FRL152H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , TRF7964A, TRF7962A, TRF7970A

Hi team,

I'm currently evaluating the RF430FRL152HEVM + TRF7970AEVM combination. I'm happy with it so far, but I am wondering if there is a more cost-sensitive, less feature-full (fewer I/O ports, less memory) combination that would provide the same basic functionality as the above pair.

If you have any clarifying questions, please let me know.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Brian Angiel

  • Hello Brian,

There aren't a lot of options for those devices.

For the RF430FRL152H, we have two variants, the 153H has no eUSCI (so no I2C/SPI) and the 154H has no SD14. No other variations for this.

The TRF79xx family has a few variations based on feature set. The TRF7964A is fully software and hardware compatible with the TRF7970A. The TRF7962A is an older device which is hardware compatible but NOT software compatible. You would need to make a number of software changes to use it.

  • Hi Ralph,

    Thanks for the information.
