CC1190: Is shield required for CC1190 for compliance purposes?

I am using a CC1190 with a CC1312R7 and am wondering if an RF shield will be required for RF compliance reasons. I see the TI devboards have a shield. If it is not required is there any documentation that shows the RF performance gains of using such a shield? Thanks

Yes, the radiated 3. harmonic will be too high without a shield. The harmonic level without shield is not covered by any documentation.

Hi,

All designs that are > 20 dBm output power, we usually have a shield and generally a 4-layer PCB design in order to meet regulatory radiated requirements.
