CC3235MODSF: CC3235 HTTP Client Connect Error

It ended up with a missing ti_net_SlNet_initConfig() which is autogenerated with sysconfig.

Thanks Shlomi.  I am calling  ti_net_SlNet_initConfig() before any other network initialization is performed. Do you know if this is the correct?  Does any other initialization need to be performed beforehand?

ti_net_SlNet_initConfig() is an auto-generated code and it should be called from SimpleLinkNetAppEventHandler() @platform.c as I can see on the example.Is this how it implemented in your case?

Yes, for the TI httpget demo it is called from SimpleLinkNetAppEventHandler() @platform.c.  I am running the demo untouched except for SSID info to connect to the wifi.  In the code for custom board, it is being called in the beginning of execution in main, similiar to the TI demos for local_time and mqtt_client_app.

Just to align here, have you tried using the httpget code from SDK on a Launchpad just to make sure the original code works?

I tried on my side and it works perfectly.

Using a custom code and calling ti_net_SlNet_initConfig() from the beginning of the main execution function is also OK.

The only thing I can suggest is to step into the connect function and se where it is crashing.

I am sure you would see somewhere a NULL pointer of the netif somewhere.

most likely it would be under HTTPClient_connect -> HTTPClient_connect2 -> SlNetSock_connectURI -> SLNetUtil_getHostByName -> SLNetIf_queryIf.

No, it still not working.  I just spent the last 12+ hours debugging.  Here are my findings:

In function SlNetUtil_getHostByName function in slnetutils.c:

Line 188: 

    netIf = SlNetIf_queryIf(ifBitmap, SLNETIF_QUERY_IF_STATE_BIT | SLNETIF_QUERY_IF_CONNECTION_STATUS_BIT);

Line 195 of slnetutils.c is returning SLNETERR_RET_CODE_INVALID_INPUT (-2006) when checking the value of netIf.

        if ( (NULL == netIf) || ( NULL == (netIf->ifConf)->utilGetHostByName) )

Also, an unrelated issue, I am frequently observing the following error when loading new code during debugging:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -1170 @ 0x0)
Unable to access the DAP. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK).
(Emulation package 9.10.0.00080)

I need to unplug and plug the USB connection.

I was able to verify that the connection status is SLNETIF_STATUS_DISCONNECTED (0) when HTTPClient_connect() is called.
