CC3230SF: About UniFlash and XDS110 DEBUG PROBE

Part Number: CC3230SF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Can I use the XDS110 to connect UniFlash to the onboard CC3230?

With the attached configuration, launchpad was able to connect, but XDS110 did not.

Isn't xds110 firmware ver3.0.0.13 uploaded somewhere?
  • Hi,

Yes, this is expected behaviour. Uniflash for proper function need to restart CC32xx device. This is done via control of PA6 pin of TM4C1294. This pin is not connected to nRESET pin at XDS100 CTI-20 connector. I think PA6 is connected to one of pins of AUX connector. I think it is GPIOOUT0 according this.

  • Thank you Jan.

I connected the GPIOOUT0 as nRESET, but I couldn't connect with UniFlash.

Check the signal and the UART is not working. Are there any factors?

  • Hi,

I am not sure whether some other pin like TGTVDD(Sense) need to be connected. For mode details see documentation for TDSEMU110-U.

Side note: I have here TDSEMU110-U but I never used them regularly, because I found that usage of XDS110 from LaunchPad is less problematic than usage stand alone TDSEMU110-U.
