CC3230SF: Cannot Connect / Program Flash by using UniFlash

Part Number: CC3230SF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Tool/software:

Hi,

My customer is now trying to program the External SPI Flash on their own board with CC3230SF by using UniFlash, but they can’t program. Could you answer some their questions below ?

They’re following UniFlash ImageCreator Basics in the SimpleLink Academy for CC32xx – 7.10.00.13 in the Resource Explorer.

https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=A__AeMwEeGHutxa6hb3catsJg__SIMPLELINK-ACADEMY-CC32XX__-LLELo7__LATEST

  -  Sense-On-Power (SOP) jumpers are set to 010 on their board as well.

  -  For using UniFlash, Both JTAG and UART are needed to connect with CC3230SF device ? Or any one interface is OK ? They’re using XDS110.

  -  Since My device cannot be detected automatically, they chose CC31XX / CC32XX manually.
Which device configuration should they choose from the below list in the case of their own board with CC3230SF ?

  -  On the above GUI screen, What do Serial and On-Chip mean ? On-Chip means on-chip Flash ?

  -  In the below case, only UART is connected ? Is JTAG not used ?

  -  For Adding the MCU Image in below, which MCU image mcuimg.bin, mcuflashimg.bin or other should they choose ? They’re using CC3230SF.

  -  Is it different from the case of programming the on-chip Flash or the case of external SPI Flash ?

  -  Is it possible to use UniFlash to program both the on-chip Flash or external SPI Flash ?

 Thanks and regards,

Hideaki
