CC2530: cc2530 not detected in ztool

Please review the "Similar topics" E2E threads on the right side of this page, as well as the Z-Stack ZNP Interface Specification document found in the Documents/API folder.  You can try using the CC2530ZNP-Prod.hex image under Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x\dev and be sure to modify the Z-Tool configuration inside Tools -> Settings -> Serial Devices.  You may also want to monitor the RX/TX UART lines with a logic analyzer or oscilloscope to be sure they are connected properly.

I tried using the production hex firmware, but the issue still remains the same. We are confident about the RX/TX connections and verified it, any other settings missing?  

We have configured the baud rate as 38400 and handshake as none. We captured the signals in LA and found the handshake request signal going from Ztool to the CC2530 control but  there was no response from the CC2530. 

Also we could not locate the  CC2530ZNP-Prod.hex in the Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x\dev, but we have  found Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x\bin\CC2530ZNP-SB.hex as we are using Zstack V1.2.2.

Can you please share the  CC2530ZNP-Prod.hex?

As I know, TI doesn't provide prebuilt CC2530ZNP-Prod.hex in Z-Stack. You have to build it by yourself. When CC2530ZNP-Prod is built successfully, it would generate CC2530ZNP-Prod.hex under Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x\dev

Are you talking about the project Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x\ZNP? I tried building it but didnt get any hex file named with  CC2530ZNP-Prod.hex under Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x\dev instead it generating a executable in Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x\CC2530-Debug.

Can you point me to the right project and any additional compile build options required to generate the CC2530ZNP-Prod.hex?

Yes, I mean Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC253x. Do you switch to "CC2530-ProdHex" before you build the project?

There is no CC2530-ProdHex as you can see in the snippet. Even in the latest Zstack 3.0.2 im not finding  CC2530-ProdHex.

I read you use Zstack version 1.2.2 which contains "CC2530-ProdHex" but there is not in Z-Stack 3.0.2.

Yes we are mainly using Zstack V1.2.2 and V3.0.2 we are using just for reference.. I found the CC2530-ProdHex in Zstack V1.2.2  but its getting few build errors. Please let me know the solution for this.

I suppose you revise something in ZNP to make it run out of memory. You should decrease memory usage to fix this issue.

Ok so we have this issue fixed..We are able to generate CC2530-ProdHex and tried connecting to Ztool but its still not able to detect the device. What else can we try? Any other solution.

Do you check if your baudrate and flow control setting are the same between ZTool and your ZNP?

Yes baudrate is 38400 and we are not using CTS/RTS, so flow control is false in the both ZNP and Ztool

If you are sure about this, I suggest you to check UART TX/RX pins are connected correctly.

Yes we have checked the uart pins, captured the signals in LA and found the handshake request signal going from Ztool to the CC2530 control but  there was no response from the CC2530. 

I debugged the code but it doesnt reach to the MT_UartProcessZToolData callback function where it has to come first when the ztool sends the handshake signal.

Does your code enter MT_UartInit/npInit and set all the expected parameters?  Please confirm that HalUARTOpen is called without error.  Is npUartCback ever reached?  Are you able to achieve communication using Z-Stack 3.0.2 or the OTA dongle using the OTAServer tool?  What is the voltage level of your device and UART lines?
