CC2652P7: CC2652P7 for Matter RCP

Part Number: CC2652P7
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1352P7, SYSCONFIG

Hi team,

My customer is evaluating CC2652P7 for Matter RCP. Below list some questions. Please help clarify.

1. for HW schematic design, which reference design should be used ?

Inside CC2652P7 data sheet, it list two reference design. Customer want to put 20dBm on 2.4G. Which one is suitable ?

2. Which EVM is ok for SW development ?

LP-CC1352P7-1 or LP-CC1352P7-4

3.which example project for RCP FW .

Inside SDK/example/rtos, there are below two folder. However, only LP_CC1352P7_4 has Thread examples.

LP_CC1352P7_1

LP_CC1352P7_4

4. If customer want to use PTA (coexist with WiFi), could they use sysconfig to enable PTA and modify 3 wires pins ?

  • Hi team,

    Add another questions.

    5. For CC2652P7, if customer want to switch to Zigbee application, which example can be used ?  Inside SDK/example/rtos, there are below two folder "LP_CC1352P7_1" and "LP_CC1352P7_4" . However, only LP_CC1352P7_4 has zstack examples.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Jerry,

    1. Use the LP-CC1354P7-4 and be aware that you would need to modify the output PA path for optimal +20 dBm operation (you could refer to a +20 dBm-enabled LP hardware design) since the 7-4 LaunchPad is intended for +10 dBm maximum.  Please see SWRA640 and submit the custom hardware design to SIMPLELINK-2-4GHZ-DESIGN-REVIEWS for further review.

    2. There is no "Matter RCP" as the only RCP would be Thread-based.  You would use the LP-CC1352P7-4 but this would require unique migration steps (see similar E2E thread 1, and a link to the second here) that is not explored for the Thread stack.

    3. Use the LP_CC1352P7_4 Thread folder since the LP_CC1352P7_1 is designed for evaluation of Sub-1 GHz stacks.

    4. Yes, this is enabled through the SysConfig -> TI DRIVERS -> RF module, "RF Coexistence" checkbox and subsequent options.

    5. Same explanation as number 3.

    Regards,
    Ryan
