CC2652R: Routing Stack Improvements

Part Number: CC2652R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

Hello,

We are using the SimpleLink CC13x2 26x2 SDK 4.20.01.04 stack and have run into some routing issues.  Before going into specific details, in a previous post (here), TI said that routing has been improved since this stack release.  We went through the stack release notes and could only find one listed issue in the 4.40 release notes that seemed related to routing:

ZIGBEE-1167 - Routing devices force link down to neighbors on first failed attempt at forwarding packet without nwk retries

I assume there were more routing algorithm changes and fixes that were not published in the release notes, which is fine.  Can you recommend a specific stack version that would be better for us to use, that has the most up-to-date and best tested routing?  We would prefer to stick with the 4.X.X.X releases if possible.  But if there are 6.x or 7.x releases that are superior, we would appreciate knowing that as well.

Best regards,

Damon

  • Hello Damon,

Please be aware that tickets which contain critical bugs that could directly affect mass customer usage are typically reported on the Z-Stack Release Notes.  Most tickets are not publicized, including the optimizations that would benefit your direct use case.  Why are you hesitant to move from a 4.X SDK release if you are willing to consider migrating in general?  Several improvements were made during 5.X but Z-Stack development has stabilized since SDK v6.20 (this is a gross estimation), where v7.10 is the latest and most recommended version.

    Regards,
    Ryan
