INA203 delay variance

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA203

Hi,

I'm looking at using the INA203 in a design and wondered what the delay option variance of comparator 2 is. The datasheet shows the typical value only and I would like to know the manufacturing tolerance of this value and also what effect temperature has.

Any help appreciated.

Gary

  • Gary,

Thank you for looking at the INA203 for your design, I'm happy to help as best I can.

Regarding the manufacturing data, I cannot provide this data without an NDA, and I will also need internal approval.  If you would like to pursue this, I can get you in touch with your local field applications engineer and they can assist you with the NDA process.

Regarding the typical values shown in the data sheet, there are no guarantees that I could offer even with an NDA and raw data, if that has an impact on your design.  Also, the propagation delay of comparator 2 is adjustable by a capacitor, so the tolerance of the capacitor and layout of the board will certainly have an impact on the delay time, in addition to the effects of temperature on the die (and temperature of the external capacitor).

If you would like to fill me in on what you're trying to do, I think I may be able to assist you better.  What kind of values do you want and what would be acceptable, what type of application is this going into, what kind of currents and voltages will you be measuring, etc.  If the INA203 isn't a good fit, I may be able to find one that is.  I can also try collecting some data (albeit limited in scope) if you think it would be worth it.

If you would like to evaluate the device in your lab, please email me as I may have a board that could work for you.

    Best regards,
